French, English
Specialty: Photography and P
luridisciplinary

Béatrice Andrieux, holder of a DEA in Aesthetics on Land Art artists and their practices of photography as archival documents at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne, is an independent curator and art critic.

For the past fifteen years, she has been developing a critical practice contributing to various artistic media. This writing practice has been extended by a curatorial practice in the fields of photography and the contemporary image.

Her training and background allow her to put the history of photography and the current state of the medium into perspective through forward-looking exhibition projects that are both attentive to the French scene and highlight artists from different artistic scenes, particularly South American. It has presented the work of Miguel Rothschild from October 2019 to January 2020 at the Maison de l'Amérique Latine in Paris.

In 2015, she was the director of a Swiss festival, inviting Georges Rousse to create a site-specific work and the Anglo-Portuguese artist Edgar Martins to use the rooms of the Château de Gruyères. She was guest curator at the Rencontres d'Arles in 2017 for Levitt France, une utopie pavillonnaire. She organised a solo exhibition devoted to Corinne Mercadier's polaroids in 2020. She wrote about Jean-Michel André during the Rencontres d'Arles 2021. In 2022 she will curate the exhibition of Claire Adelfang.

In September 2022, she was guest curator at the Fondation A in Brussels for her exhibition Regards de femmes dans la collection d'Astrid Ullens de Schooten Whetnall. A catalogue is to be published by Toluca.

In September 2023, she was guest curator at the Maison de l'Amérique Latine for the first solo exhibition in Paris of the Chilean artist Paz Errazuriz. A catalogue is to be published by atelier exb.

The bridges she has built through her projects between the private sphere of galleries and that of institutions, notably in the United States with the Aipad fair, feed her different projects.

She co-authored with Quentin Bajac and Michel Richard, "Lucien Hervé/Le Corbusier Contacts" published by Seuil in 2011 and has been a contributor to Ideat magazine and Quotidien de l'Art since 2016.
