Béatrice Andrieux, who holds a DEA in Aesthetics on Land Art artists and their use of photography as archival documents from the Université Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne, is an independent curator and art critic.
Over the past fifteen years, she has developed a critical practice contributing to various art press publications. In recent years, this writing practice has been extended to include curatorial work in the fields of photography and the contemporary image.
Her training and background enable her to put the history of photography and the current state of the medium into perspective through forward-looking exhibition projects, both attentive to the French scene and highlighting artists from different artistic scenes, notably South American.
She presented the work of Chilean artist Paz Erràzuriz in 2023-24 and Argentinian artist Miguel Rothschild in 2019-20 at the Maison de l'Amérique Latine in Paris.Director of a Swiss Festival in 2015, she invited Georges Rousse to create an in situ work and Anglo-Portuguese artist Edgar Martins to use the rooms of the Château de Gruyères.
She was guest curator at Rencontres d'Arles in 2017.
In June 2019, she has been invited as guest curator at the CRP/ around her collection entitled "Inédits".
In 2022, she is guest curator at Fondation A in Brussels for her exhibition Regards de femmes dans la collection d'Astrid Ullens de Schooten Whetnall.
In September 2023, she curated Philippe Ramette's retrospective at the Bonisson Art Center, and was invited to the Maison de l'Amérique Latine for the first solo show in Paris of Chilean artist Paz Errazuriz. The bridges she has built through her projects between the private sphere of galleries and that of institutions, notably in the United States with the Aipad fair, nourish her various projects.
She has worked for Connaissances des arts, Ideat and Le Quotidien de l'Art.
