Sandra BarréSandra Barré, art historian, aesthetician, art critic and curator, explores the non-visualities of modern and contemporary art through scent. Her research focuses on the relationship between smell and the body, direct olfactory experience and its embodiments, and responses to the crisis of sensibility described by Baptiste Morizot.Her essay, "L'odeur de l'art, un panorama de l'art olfactif" (2021), is published by Editions de la Lettre Volée. She is preparing a doctorate on olfactory art at the Sorbonne Paris 1 under the supervision of Jacinto Lageira. Her publications include articles in "Olfactory Art And The Political In An Age Of Resistance" (2021) and "Les dispositifs olfactifs au musée" (2020).
Sandra Barré has organized several exhibitions, including "Odore, l'art, l'odeur et le sacré" (2021) at Galerie Pauline Pavec and "Horizons Olfactifs" (2023) at Fondation Espace Écureuil. In June 2024, she will open the "Mondes Sensibles" exhibition at the Musée International de la Parfumerie in Grasse, and is preparing "Par la fumée" for the end of 2024 at POUSH.
In 2022, she joined Studio Flair, where she created the Flair Award for Olfactory Art and the "Flair l'art" podcast, promoting olfactory art and its links with perfume.
