An art critic (member of AICA-France), Tom Laurent is responsible for Creation Support and Editions at the SHŌEN endowment fund, whose Matsutani Prize he has coordinated since 2016. He has thus curated the exhibitions of the 2017-2020 Laureates (with Keita Mori, Nicolas Châtelain, Nathanaëlle Herbelin, Serpas, Kamil Bouzouba-Grivel) in 2021 and the 2023 Matsutani Prize Nominees at the Institut national d'histoire de l'art in 2024. Editor-in-chief of the magazine Art Absolument until January 2024, he has notably directed the editorial coordination of several exhibition catalogs and monographs (including Résonances. Artistes marocains du monde, Christian Lapie - Les Métamorphes or Pleine Nuit. Boltanski, Kalman, Krawczyk) and is the author of numerous articles and catalog texts.
