It is on a childlike universe, crossed by reassuring figures (children's community, small animals, toys), that my work is based to take hold of sometimes complicated themes. I made this choice for the very singular way in which children apprehend, understand and interact with the world.
The ability to transform what surrounds them, as well as their ability to escape and the resources they have in the face of adversity are faculties that I try to exploit. Through their imagination, their games, their beliefs and their dreams, they offer me the opportunity to nourish a shaken reality.
Imaginary communities, poetry, dramatization, metaphors, miniaturization of the world, personified objects, games, shifts... Whatever the modus operandi used, each of my creations is intended to propose a form of sliding to evoke, without ever coming to freeze the reading, themes such as difference, illness, injury, pain, aging ...
By taking a step aside from reality, and by integrating my proposals into the imagination, daydreaming and play, I invite the spectators to question themselves on the nature of the objects and scenes represented. These are sometimes tenuous clues which, put side by side, will allow them to identify their origin.
As story books sometimes do, by taking circuitous routes and intermediate reassuring, I hope to allow a look, give food for thought in an indirect and distant way, raise awareness of certain issues or even generate discussions around questions that are close to my heart.
