Is displacement moving, is it traveling from point a to point B?
Often we move from one place to another, from one space to another without knowing the nature of this change of place and what it transports. The landscape, the crossing of countries and territories other than those I have been able to experience before in my childhood are the heart of my reflection.

My work is a story of memories and spaces where man buried his past, his hopes, his attachments and where sometimes he loses them. But not only, because it is also a story of territory, of belonging, of these places that build us, identify us, those that we transform and that we fantasize. The narrative, the sound, the installation, the drawing and the painting intermingle in the service of a single material, sometimes solid, sometimes impalpable, at times NET but most often blurred: the memory. Memory as a starting point, as a means and as a goal; the memory as a question about the place of the human, that of the stranger and of the displaced, of the forgotten and of the forgetting. And in the end, the memory of the other, of the others, became fragment of a Rubik's cube, builds the archive of a territory. Territory that is in fact alien to me.
How to archive the memories of a territory, of a given space?
The place, the year, the season, the month, the day, the time and the atmosphere of the moment as well as other details arising from the memories are put in parallel with the cartography. Each narrative determines and transports me to a specific place that I take in photo while archiving the GPS coordinates of the image.

The backpack has all these qualities for Victoria Niki. The feeling of freedom experienced by its practicality is nevertheless qualified by its weight (16 kg). The bag is also symbolic of the displacement that inspires her, and that runs through her work. "Moving from one place to another, from one space to another, what does it carry?" asks the artist who surveys the answers by letting himself be guided by these epitaphic words.

Her work is a story of memories and real, buried or forgotten spaces that she stages through devices that are often transparent (Hétérotopies), airy like a breeze (Fragilis), flying (Entre) and moving (Certitude). She washes out the views, locates the inaccessible, suspends the urban sails. "The narrative, the sound, the installation, the drawing and the painting intermingle, she says, in the service of a single material, sometimes clear and often blurred: the forgotten and forgotten memory of the place of the human being in this world.
