Rendezvous on November 20, 2019 from 7:30 pm for the conference "Francis Bacon, Meat Painter And Lucian Freud Flesh Painter". But All The Two Blood Brothers! ».
The power and the violence of their art make us think of Baudelaire's verse: "The flesh is sad, alas! and I have read all the books". The lecturer Etienne Aubert will give you the underside of the works often unknown to the public.
Who is Etienne AUBERT?
"Even though he has studied art history, his emotion, he draws it above all from an early age, when he finds himself frozen, dazzled, intoxicated, and sometimes even weakened, in front of a work of art. Since his young adolescence, he has been constantly frequenting museums and art galleries both in France and abroad, to better understand. The mystery remains; so the look is decisive.
Our spirit feeds on the art that in turn elevates our soul. What he has been doing for years, is to share his unwavering passion for art, to propose his own analysis and to contextualise the works in their historical and civilizational setting.
There is no possible equation between the work and the discourse. No speech exhauses a work of art. This is probably what makes any interpretation infinite and fascinating. With the work of art, there is a mysterious presence because it is silent. »
