Independent art critic (Aica France), member of the editorial board of ARTENSION magazine (Fr) JJ Gay has contributed to French and international daily newspapers (Libérations...) and magazines (Gen Lock (Sw), Contemporanéa (it), ArtWorld Magazine (Ch), OpticalSound (fr)....) on technology-related artistic practices. He is also a qualified member of international juries (Labo Médias Grand Paris, Etoiles de la SCAM, Fond SCAN ARA, Symposium ISEA23, Carré des arts, Poush) and a consultant at Le Fresnoy, Studio National des Arts Contemporains.

Independent curator, curator of exhibitions for the acces-s cultures électroniques festival https://acces-s.org (2020/2023), JJ Gay has been guest curator for the ArtJaws.com platform (ARTT collection: ARt To Tablet), as well as for the spamm.fr and art school platforms. Today, as General Delegate of the Opline International Prize, he is curator associated with Maurice Benayoun's neuro-design project Value Of Values (2021 to 2024), and is developing a practice as Director of Monograph Exhibitions (Valérie Mréjen, Cécile Le Prado, Stéphane Trois Carrés and Pierrick Sorin).

Author, JJ Gay is in charge of partnerships at the AICA France office, where he organizes modules such as Studio Critique and Ekphrasis with ADAGP, le Fresnoy and le Journal des arts. Founder of the SPAMM collective (with spamm.arte.fr ) in 2012/2014, he is at the origins (1993) of synesthesie.com and its Virtual Art Center in Seine Saint-Denis. JJ Gay chaired SCAM's Commission des Ecritures et Formes Emergentes (2010/2018).

Director of the Festival acces-s cultures électroniques in Pau (Feb 20/June 23), JJ Gay designs the scientific and artistic programming for the 20/21/22/23 seasons www.acces-s.org and the online exhibitions XX.acces-s.org, residencies and related scientific events in New Aquitaine, France and abroad (Spain, Italy, Belgium).
