Ph.D., associate member of the CITU team of the Laboratoire Paragraphe (University of Paris 8), teacher-researcher on contemporary narratives and technological arts Jean Jacques Gay currently directs the festival of electro-digital cultures in Pau, accès)s( electronic cultures.

Through his collaborations with various visionary creators of our digital uses, such as the Americans Steina and Woody Vasulka or the Canadian Luc Courchesne, JJ Gay leads scientific, pedagogical, artistic and cultural research teams in art schools (ENSBA, EESI, ESAP...), universities (Paris 8, Gustave Eiffel, Chambéry-Savoie, Montpelier-Paul Valery) or as a teacher-consultant in the arts/sciences - Le Fresnoy (Studio National des Arts Contemporains)

Following a journalistic experience ranging from Libération to Les Lettres Françaises via Optical Sound, JJ Gay is now a member of the editorial board ofArtension . He is in charge of the AICA office and observes artistic creation and technologies through the posture of an art critic in the grip of digital humanities and the innovative uses of spectator mutations.

Consultant, for Kirnéa/PasseursD'images, the 104Paris (founder of the Emergence Prize), the steering committee of the Réseau Art Numérique (RAN) and various international juries(Labo Médias Grand Paris, Etoiles de la SCAM, Fond SCAN Auvergne Rhône Alpes, Vidéoformes, Nouvelles Ecritures NewImages/SCAM and Prix Révélation numérique ADAGP). JJ Gay is thus questioning a digital curatorial practice on heritage and its museography and as a director of monographic exhibitions(Valérie Mréjen, Samuel Bianchini, Cécile Le Prado, Stephane Trois Carrés, etc...).

Founding member of the SPAMM collective and at the origins of synesthésie.com and its Centre d'Art Virtuel (93), JJ Gay develops trans-media experiences for the web (Le Louvre-ARTE or spammARTE.tv).

Guest curator of the platform ArtJaws.com for his ARTT (ARt To Tablet) collection, JJ Gay is pursuing a collaboration with Maurice Benayoun and Tobias Klein(City University of HongKong) on a work oftransactional aesthetics, neuro-design oriented, on the Blockchain: ValueOfValues and its Brain Factory. Today, as curator of the accès)s( exhibitions, he is setting up Melting Point*, le carrefour des internet)s( at the Bel Ordinaire (64) in autumn 2020 and is currently preparing the 21st edition of the accès)s( festival for Pau and its agglomeration.
